Overview
If you do not know your ULID password or it's not working, we have multiple options to help you reset it.
ULID Passwords
Option 1: Online Password Reset using Security Questions
To use this function, it is required to have already configured Security Questions during your initial password setup.
- Go to the ULID Forgotten Password site.
- Enter your ULID, First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth (ex. YYYY-MM-DD) and Last 4 digits of your SSN, then click Continue.
- Enter the Answers you would've entered for the displayed Security Questions, then click Check Answers.
NOTE: Answers are case-sensitive!!
- Last, you will be prompted to set up a new password and to verify the new password. Click Change Password to complete the process.
Your new password will take up to 30 minutes to take effect. If you change your password and it is still not working, please give it the full 30 minutes to sync to Microsoft 365.
Option 2: By Phone or Email
If you cannot reset your password using the online reset tools, please call (337-482-4357) or email us for assistance. Once your account information is verified, the IT Service Desk will reset your account to allow you to set up new security questions and a new password. You must be at a computer with Internet access when you call.
Option 3: In Person
If you cannot reset your password using the online reset tools, you can have your password reset in person at the IT Service Desk in Stephens Hall. Photo ID is required.
PLEASE NOTE: Changing your password can affect many services. Please read below for more information.
- Your e-mail client: You must close your email client (Outlook, etc.) before changing your password. If you fail to do this step, your account could be locked out. Once you have successfully changed your password, wait ten minutes for your new password to take effect before attempting to log back into your email account using your new password.
- Your workstation: If you are using a University owned , you will need to log out of the computer and log back in after you change your password.
- Saved passwords: Some people like to save their passwords in certain applications so they do not have to enter their password every time they log into that application. If you have saved your password within an application, be sure to change the saved password.
- STEP Lab computers: If you are using an STEP lab computer to change your password, you will need to log out of the computer and log back in using the new password.
Password Complexity Requirements
- Be a minimum of 8 and no more than 40 characters in length
- Contain some combination of at least three of the following:
- Uppercase letters
- Lowercase letters
- Numbers
- Punctuation & Symbols
(Accepted: `~!@#$^*()_-={}|[]:;'<>?,)
- Must not include any of the following values: password test
- Must not include a common word or commonly used sequence of characters.
- Must not include part of your name or user name
- May not reuse last 10 passwords
Some systems will not allow you to authenticate with passwords that contain special characters such as @, &, (, ), <, >, and $. It is recommended you refrain from their use. Passwords cannot contain spaces or non-English characters.
